Sähköisku/Electric Shock 2016

Next sunday (13.3.) I am heading to Tampere's Sähköisku 2016 happening. Interesting program: VerdeAudio modulars, Ladettes Otamatone/Omnichord battle, lecture of Erkki Kureniemi's electronic instruments, DIMI-trio concert. I put here more information after the happening!

Moog Prodigy clone in Eurorack format

My Moog Prodigy clone-project is now in version 2.7E. That E means that it is now also Euromodular size (104HP). Most important inputs are in the PCB with minijacks (Volt/Octave, Filter CV, Gate input). Audio Out is also in the PCB. I must still figure out can I also add the PWM-inputs to the PCB or are they in an separate expander module. Pitch and Modulation wheels are anyway in an separate module.

Portable Modular Case

Finally it's ready! Still it needs some polishing but it is already usable. I ordered two 6U 104HP eurorack frames from Clicks & Clocks (http://clicksclocks.de/795) that I fitted to this old Sony video-camera case. So now I have 416HP places to fill in this portable modular case!

Kyteman modular setup

Here Colin Benders (Kyteman) is explaining his setup and what is his modular-philosophy.

Kyteman in Kytopia

Nice Eurorack-modular performance by Kyteman (Colin Benders). This was recorded in his Kytopia-studios in Utrecht Netherlands (http://www.kytopia.com). Hopefully we will hear more modular-stuff from him.

Modulation in Kytopia 24.1.

Nice evening in Kytopia last sunday. I started the evening with my Ambient-set. Kubus von Kubus followed with raw analogue beats from his eurorack modular. Last but not least performed The Heisenberg Compensators duo with guitar synthesiser (Casio PG-380) and analog synths. Interesting mix of ambient/krautrock elements. What an great concept this Modulation-evening is! Thanks for Allert Aalders and all the others that made this possible. We also checked the amazing Sonar Traffic studio with all the synthesisers that you can imagine (here are some pictures from the studio not from all the synthesisers in studio).

Yamaha CS-80 calibration

Here is an interesting blog of calibrating an old synthesizer. It's not allways a direct path, instead it usually takes many twists to accomplish. Michael Fuchs decided to calibrate his CS-80 synth and it took him almost 4 weeks to accomplish this. He documented the whole process in this blog (https://mfoxhd.blogspot.com/). If you are interested in repairing/calibrating old synths I recommend you to read this 12-part document. It's an interesting and educational story!
